User Experience Awards 2012

The second annual User Experience Awards, hosted by Oxford Tech + UX and our partners, has come to a close! Check out all of the winners and their entries at userexperienceawards.com/2012-winners.

The UX Awards were held at Parson's Tishman Auditorium on June 12.

The awards were given in grand prize, gold, silver, and honorable mention levels for each category. The Grand Prize winner, Mobients for Bloomberg Anywhere,  received a cut glass award and a $1000 gift card. The Gold level winners,  Google for Ice Cream Sandwich, The Mill for Mill Touch, and HUGE for HBO GO Mobile Apps, won a cut glass award and a $250 gift card. There were also be Silver level awards, which were framed plaques.  These went to Adobe for Tutorial Player for Photoshop, Art.sy, and SeatGeak. All winners received additional products and services from the UX Awards sponsors including certificates for Harvest Software.

The entries were judged by a high-profile panel of User Experience experts. Their experience ranges across digital agencies, software, start-ups, government, corporate, nonprofit, eCommerce and more. For the full list of jurors click here. Jurors reviewed submissions based on their own expertise and experience. Given the diverse range of backgrounds of the jurors, each reviewed the submissions based on different priorities. For some, usability was preeminent; for others, success at achieving the stated project or business goals was most important.  During the event, each juror will explained his/her priorities and what influenced his/her decisions.

The User Experience Awards are a premiere juried awards celebrating and rewarding great projects that created excellent user experiences. The aim of the awards is to significantly raise the stature, understanding and awareness of User Experience. The categories for submission included Mobile, Tablet, Consumer Website, Enterprise/Business, Multichannel, Software, Strategy/Concept, Student Project, Intranet, Games, Social, and Other.
