What are the trends and common traits behind the winners at the UX Awards, and where are they headed?
Beverly May, Executive Director of the UX Awards, will present an overview of the UXies, showcase past winning work and case studies, and provide quantitative and qualitative highlights of winning submissions and UX trends from the past five years that you can use to help improve your own portfolios, UX presentations, or awards submissions.
Beverly will be joined by a panel of past UX Awards winners, judges, and advisory board members to talk about what they look for in submissions and how they approached crafting their own case studies.

About the Speakers
Beverly May Founder & Executive Director of the UXies
Beverly has nearly 2 decades experience in tech, product development and UX and has helped launch hundreds of new digital initiatives at digital agencies, tech incubators, startups, major publishers and in Peacekeeping at the UN. Most recently, outside of the UXies, Beverly was CTO & Head of Product and UX at a 35-person mobile video software company in Berlin, Germany. She is also a top instructor at General Assembly globally in NY, London and San Francisco for both Product Management and UX. Beverly has an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford, a Master`s degree from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program, and a BA with High Distinction from University of Toronto. Scott McDonald Co-Founder and Managing Director,
Scott is managing director and a co-founder of New York based digital innovation and UX consultancy Modus. Prior to founding Modus, Scott was a strategist with the New York office of Scient Corporation and creative supervisor at Young & Rubicam’s Brand Dialogue interactive group. An expert in customer-centered business innovation, Scott has led high-profile strategic initiatives for Morgan Stanley & Co., SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Sony Electronics, Comcast Corporation, InterActiveCorp, Major League Baseball, Cleveland Clinic and other leading brands. Feliphe Lavor Experience Director,
Originally from Brazil, Feliphe has worked across multiple departments at Huge’s office in Rio, including interaction design, strategy, and user experience, trying to find the sweet spot between engineering and design for clients. He has led projects for global companies such as Google, Coke, Discovery Networks, Universal Music and Estadão. Prior to joining Huge, Feliphe was a business consultant, and has lived and worked in India, the UK, Latin America, and the United States. Feliphe earned a B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a Post-Graduate degree in Cognitive Ergonomics from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, and an MBA from IBMEC in Brazil. Matthew Weber Vice President UX and Design, Zoomdata / UX Adjunct, NYU
Matthew is an award winning UX designer, executive and teacher who has had his work showcased by Apple and has lectured at NASA. He has a passion for making data easy to use. He has worked on projects for Thompson Reuters, CNN, Lincoln Financial, Morgan Stanley, Sesame Street, MeeGenius, Johnson Research Labs, and Persado. He is currently VP of UX and Design at Zoomdata and also teaches UX Portfolio at NYU, where is also a founding member of the UX Curriculum Advisory Board, and he also leads the UX + Data Meetup.
